Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide in-person therapy?

No, all of our sessions are conducted online for increased accessibility.

Fees & Insurance

Our session fee is $215/hour with licensed psychologists, and $165/hour with master-level associates.

In-network Benefits

We are in-network providers with Aetna insurance. Please check with member services regarding your plan’s policy on financial responsibilities, including co-insurance and deductibles, before beginning therapy sessions with us.

Out-of-network Benefits

For other insurance companies, you might be able to be reimbursed for part of your cost if you plan includes out-of-network benefits for mental health (usually covered by PPO plans). We can provide a “superbill” for you to apply for reimbursement by your PPO insurance. Please contact your insurance company to verify your out-of-network coverage prior to beginning therapy.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

We offer a limited number of sliding-scale cases, which means that we might be able to adjust our fee according to your level of income. Please contact us even if you cannot afford our full fee. In the case that we are unable to adjust our fee for you, we will refer you to other mental health professionals in the area.

I have never been to therapy or counseling. How do I start the process?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time. The process is simple: you can begin by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation where we talk about what brought you here and what you’re hoping to work on. I’ll explain how online therapy works, answer any questions, and help you decide whether this feels like the right fit.

If you choose to move forward, we’ll schedule your first full session, explore your goals, and take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you. No preparation needed—just show up as you are.

What happens during the phone consultation?

The consultation is a brief, no-pressure conversation to help you get a sense of what working together would feel like. We’ll talk about what you’re seeking support for, what you hope to get out of therapy, and I’ll answer any questions you have about EMDR, online sessions, or my approach. I’ll also share what you can expect in our work together and make sure your needs align with what I offer. There’s no commitment—just a chance for you to see whether this feels like the right fit.

In addition, if I feel that I am not the right therapist for you after we get to know your situation, I will let you know that directly and refer you to other mental health or medical professionals who would be a better fit for you.

What does therapy look like?

We work with individuals in weekly 50-minute sessions. The duration of therapy depends on your goals in therapy and diagnoses. That being said, most of our clients work with us anywhere from 6-9 months to up to two years.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once we have established a regular schedule for you, please cancel your appointments 48-hours before your session in order to avoid cancellation fees.
